Wireless Centre of Excellence – Wireless Engineer
Wireless (WLAN) Engineer (Band D) for a world leading Pharmaceutical company which operates in over 100 countries and is head quartered in the United Kingdom. The candidate is expected to work as a wireless Engineer for a large Network Services team, spanning several continents and transitioning to an in house capability.
The candidate should possess broad functional knowledge in his/her domain and in-depth technical knowledge in relevant Wireless technology and concepts. The candidate should have proven expertise in working within a team for transition support and maintenance initiatives. Network Services currently operates a multi-supplier model across the portfolio of network products and services. The role will be based at any HUB site in the Asia Pacific region.
The Wireless Engineer will be responsible for the configuration, development and implementation of WLAN Technologies. This person will be in charge of managing all aspects of the WLAN environment with a significant emphasis on supporting the ISE infrastructure, including but not limited to Cisco Routing and Switching, implement and administer QOS, Cisco Unified Wireless-Configuration, Cisco ACS-Access Control Server, and Multicast Networks. The Wireless Engineer is responsible for working with various Service Support organizations to assist in the development of project timelines, coordination of work, the setting and tracking of various goals and deliverables, and key indicators of Network Performance (KPI’s).

Typical Accountabilities
Responsibilities include :
• Drive service delivery satisfaction through metrics and management.
• Configure and manage ISE and WLAN for supporting the achievement of operational excellence in AstraZeneca's Network globally.
• Build strong partnerships with the senior operations leaders in MedImmune's business units and to other senior IT management.
• Develop innovative approaches for leading ISE and LAN changes and activities necessary for achieving operational excellence
• Work within an ITIL environment for Change and Incident management.
• Analyze current state of the ISE and WLAN environment in order to determine the best network improvement opportunities working in collaboration with IT management.
• Regularly present strategies, plans and progress/feedback on initiatives to the Network Leadership Team.
• Identifying, designing, implementing and maintaining the processes and policies in accordance with industry practices.
• Participate in weekly Change Advisory Board meeting to facilitate priorities, new requests, as well as, in-progress implementations and upgrades.
• Define and implement Key Performance Indicators and Metrics for support and network related activities.
• Create policies and procedures related to the Wireless Local Area Network.
Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Essential Desirable
• 5+ years experience in designing and configuring Cisco routers and switches
• 5+ years of experience in Design and implementation in LAN Technologies.
• Experience working with Cisco Nexus Servers.
• Experience working with TACACS.
• Experience implementing and administering QOS.
• Knowledge and Experience working within a Service Oriented Engineerure.
• Ability to document and maintain Network support documentation (e.g., processes procedures, workflows, communication/training material, service catalog, etc.)
• Ability to support the integration and organizational adoption of IT processes, standards, policies and controls
• Strong relationship management experience
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and excellent presentation skills.
• Experience with SNMP configuration, tooling and log correlation leveraging syslog and regular expressions and common log collection tools such as SPLUNK
• Proficient with common Netflow tools, such as NetQoS and OpNet
• Proficient with common Wireless network tools such as AirMagnet, AirWave, and NCS Prime Infrastructure.
• Advanced features (Netflow, IPSLA, NBAR)
• Familiar with LAN & WLAN technologies
• Must be able to execute end to end processes based on ITIL framework
• Must have experience of working in a multi partner scenario and a cross- culture environment.
• A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required, MS or MBA preferred.
• Sound knowledge of Release Management, Incident Management and Problem Management processes.
• Experience working in globally distributed team Ability to work as part of a team through challenges faced in highly customized environments.
