As is known to all, there exists a wide range of differences and similarities in sound system, vocabulary, grammar, culture and style between English and Chinese.

The similarities of the two languages might be used to relieve our study burden to a great extent;
However, the differences between the two languages might add to our difficulty, reducing our learning efficiency greatly, which is named “mother tongue interference” in linguistics.
基于上述原因，英语学习者如能充分认识、利用这些异同之处，就能更好地掌握英语，将英汉语言融会贯通，在两者之间游刃有余。
Given the analysis above, it is necessary for English learners to fully recognize, utilize the differences and similarities in order to integrate, freely use English and Chinese to our wills.
然而，令人遗憾的是许多英语学习者由于种种原因对此缺乏足够的重视。
Nevertheless, to our disappointment, many learners still don’t pay due attention to the issue above for a variety of causes.
